Sunniva was born in Bergen, Norway in 1994 and picked up a pencil on day one (well nearly). She graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2017 with a degree in Animation Production and has worked as a freelance character designer and illustrator since.

She has worked as a character concept artist on a range of animated movies, with titles including: Titina (2022), The Polar Bear King (2024), Captain Sabertooth and the Countess of Gral (2025) and on upcoming features such as The Magnificent Life of Marcel Pagnol (2025) and Flåklypa: From Paris to the Pyramids (2025). ​

 

Recently she started illustrating picture books, and in 2024 had two books released: Henrik Ibsens: An Enemy of the People written by Kåre Conradi and a new rendition of the classic norwegian folk tale The Fox´s Widow from the Asbjørnsen and Moe collection.

Currently she is collaborating on a new book with the award winning author Marta Breen.
